Optifine Help
Ok so i want to use optifine but i cant seem to get it to work. The first thing i do is download the Forge installer. I open it up and i have forge working and everything is good. So i close minecraft, open the forge jar. and put in the optifine files in the jar. Then when i try and open minecraft with forge and optifine installed, minecraft just wont start up. I click play, but nothing happens, does anyone know how to fix this?

You should be able to change the options in the normal options menu. (I think they're mostly in "video settings".)

AHHHH you're a life saver, see i forgot to delete meta-inf. Stupid little mistake, its working perfectly.
Here you go pal...
1. Run Minecraft and get a clean copy of it
2. Close Minecraft
3. Download the Forge Installer
4. Open the Forge Installer
5. Click Install Client
6. When it completes go to your %appdata% folder
7. Go to versions/forge (or whatever folder forge created in your versions folder)
8. Open your jar from inside your forge jar
9. Delete Meta-Inf
10. Drag all of the optifine files into the jar
11. Close all the windows that you just opened
12. Open Minecraft
13. Choose the Forge profile
14. Click edit profile once you selected the forge profile
15. Click the checkbox that is by the JVM Arguments, make sure that enables the textbox (which should only contain -Xmx1G)
16. Go into the textbox that contains -Xmx1G and press space
17. Paste this into the box -Dfml.ignoreInvalidMinecraftCertificates=true -Dfml.ignorePatchDiscrepancies=true
18. Hit save
19. Play Minecraft
20. Enjoy optifine and forge!

Sorry then I cant help you thats the easiest way I know. :/
but i dont want to use mcpatcher
Too make it sooooo much easier just download McPatcher and click the plus button and select Optifine.zip then press ok after thats all done click "Patch" and then when you start up you MC click edit profile and then click "Use Version" and in the drop down menu click 1.6.2 mcpatcher. Hope this helps
When i put optifine in the mods folder, minecraft opens but optifine isn't installed, and i am using the forge profile.
Put optifine in the mods folder, that should work
