Hey, I was just wondering if you know any sites that give free Java Lessons. I want to get into Java. Just not sure where to start.

Codeacademy teaches a few types of code I believe. Its easy to use and it works.

Are you kidding? That guy talks about useless things for 10 minutes while barely touching on the subject he's trying to teach. It's more of an infomercial than a tutorial. When he does talk about something he doesn't go into full detail explaining what that something does and how it works. I had problems with his C++ "tutorials".

Agreed- I first looked to his online video tutorials when first learning java- (as I continuously persist to do so) however, found no profit throughout his videos, as his explanations for why and how things occurred often lacked information.
I don't know if this stands for everyone, but rather than copying and pasting some code, and applying it to different scenarios and situations, I'd much rather learn the essentials in order to advance my knowledge further.
