Where is the 'both' option?
Bedrock is good for playing with friends but java has more game options and mods for free so personally java is better
Java is undoubtably better. Bedrock redstone sucks.
who uses redstone, honestly. also the one thing that is "bad" is that bedrock does not have quasi-connectivety, which is a bug. And also pistons can push tile entities.
Unless you need BR to play with people whose devices are unable to support java, I'd stick with the original.
Particularly if one favors RS or otherwise technical play, the fact that java was the original (and many early console versions had to make serious compromises due to hardware) there is certainly more (and possibly better) informational and/or inspirational material available for java.

Java is good With its own features
But Bedrock Has more Unique features than java. Which makes the question hard.
Java being on pc only and with mods and texture packs.
Bedrock on consoles and mobile with the marketplace and minecoins and addons
When a question is to hard i just choose both
But i will choose java because it was the first version i played

bedrock has mods and texture packs, you know.
Java is better 90% of the time, bedrock's good for it's cross platform compatibility, other than that Java is far better and you can do more.
more like what? bedrock way more features than java, is way more performant (you have to install mods to rival bedrock), and ressource packs on bedrock can do stuff (like change models) java needs optifine for.
As a whole java is more open with possibility. No limitations on mods, textures, etc. Some things do need optifine, yes, but you can do so much more with it that bedrock can't without.
There's a big limitation for mods, Java only has datapacks which are way more limited than what Bedrock add-ons can do, but Java has modding APIs made by the community which entirely removes the limitation on mods, and with those mods removes limitation on textures and such.
It really shows how dedicated the Java community is.

Yea 100%. It will be like that for the foreseeable future as well as java has just been around WAYYY longer as a whole. Bedrock will always have set limitations due to it's cross platform nature with PC being the weird duck out as I feel that scene will grow more and more as bedrock has its own perks from java. Java being held to only PC, Mac, and Linux will ultimately hold it back in the end.
Bedrock does not have limatations on mods and textures either
We are limited to what features Mojang adds for making addons, textures, etc. not a bad thing in my opinion, there's already so much you can do with it and they even have documentation for it.
and it keeps getting better each update, I can't wait for deferred lighting to be released!
