Good Video Editor for Mac?

Hello, I want to start doing YouTube videos. However, iMovie is absolutely terrible. I need another video editor, hopefully free, doesn't need to be to good, but I want to add text and slowdown/speed up certain clips. Does anyone know any good free editors? Thanks!

I use Final Cut Pro as well, but it's pricey. For free, iMovie is the best you can get, but try going to the menu bar up at the top (near the apple sign) and clicking iMovie > Preferences and enable advanced mode.
final cut pro x is what I use for all my video editing purposes. (I'm on a mac)
