Is there a way people can become a contest judge?

Can you be a judge and submit something for the contest? I just saw Boomer being a contestant and a judge for the contest and was wandering if I could do that too.

Also, when the time comes, how do you apply for a judge position?

Helping out could be as simple as reporting stolen skins or just responding accurately to people's questions.

I'm also surprised. I was looking around and couldn't find one stolen skin! Either the Mods beat me to it or the community is getting better!

You have helped out quite a bit on the contest thread, Rox, as have a couple others. It all counts! =D Toward what, I don't know, but it does count.

Pretty sure that "judges" is a temporary position, although we'll make note of people who are very responsive and helpful about it.

We'll probably devise some system of how one can become a judge soon enough, with requirements and such.

For now it's just recommendations from mods based on previous experience and how much you've helped out, and I guess you gotta have a fairly clean record, too.

I think it's so that you can have more access than an average user, but less than a mod - yet still be able to help judge in contests. If you were a normal user class, you wouldn't have the ability to disqualify or judge the submissions. Also, the class is given to people who have helped out significantly on contest threads.

Remember, judging isn't the only job of a contest judge. It's also to help out in the contest thread, to find entries that are against the rules (investigate if need be!) and to communicate to the entrants and answer their comments whenever possible.

Besides being able to discuss the contest entries with clear authority to do so, there is a special feature for you on all skins that are currently entered in the contest.

Click any of the entries to see that you can disqualify skins that do not meet the contest quidelines. Before the end of the submission period, I'll add a way for judges to cast their votes.

It currently does nothing, but when time for judging comes, the selected judges will be given access to a special page on the site for scoring the skin submissions. They have their own 'class' so that CYP can add permissions to the entire usergroup at once. Honestly I thought you would have figured that out on your own.

Nah, Judges won't have access to that kind of stuff. Which is why I don't get the point of the class. Not trying to be a power-sucker but I'm just saying.

its to do with the new coding he has done for the contest, there is most likely a secret section that only judges and mods can see

probably so that when they post on results on the forums they have an official marking so people dont go...
