Why can you not hatch the dragon egg?
I have a question that has been tumbling and the question is why can't hatch the dragon egg? Okay I get that the dragon egg is a trophy and it has no use but WHY WOULD YOU HAVE AN EGG AS A TROPHY WHEN YOU COULD HAVE SOMETHING ELSE!?! I know you are going to say, "you can already hatch it by putting end crystals around the nest." I get that but even without the dragon egg there you can still respawn the dragon with or without the egg. The good news is that the red dragon was going to be added but the bad news is that it never ever made it. well, it did make it but only in the files of the game and not in the mob folders like the opposite of the giant because giants made it into the mob folder, but its AI was removed so it can be only summoned with the /summon minecraft:giant ~ ~ ~ and nothing else. It would also be cool to have a dragon pet in the main game because the end has been the least cared about thing by Mojang and it will probably take about until 2025 until its updated. The only way to get a pet dragon is by downloading the dragon mounts mod.

Thats probably the reason why it doesn't hatch because it doesn't want to :)
the red dragon was gonna be made a ridable pet but was scraped mid development
I understand but why was the Idea scrapped even thought it was a cool concept to make a pet dragon. I understand we got the elytra, but it doesn't fly up or down, it only goes down and you half to use fireworks in order to make it go up and fireworks are expensive and hard to get so having a pet dragon will also be useful so you wouldn't need to have to use your gunpowder in your creeper farm for those fireworks because you wouldn't have that thing fully functional when you already get the elytra and it will also be helpful because dragons can be set to follow you, set to walk but not follow you, can be set to sit, is rideable, does a massive amount of damage, breathes fireballs by pressing f, is faster than the elytra, and will bring a major change to the dragon egg.
It would have been a cool idea to use the dragon egg to re-summon the ender dragon instead imo. No other boss has a trophy item like the dragon so it's kind of a weird thing to have around.
and those 2 bosses are the ender dragon and wither.
you should probably say wither boss because there are only 2 bosses in minecraft
