If you could make one animal tameable
I have made a topic similar to this about "If you could add a use for one ore". If you like this topic, make sure to check that one out, too.
So, what if you could make an animal that is currently in MC tameable? There's a poll for you to vote which one. If you would like to, you can say which animal you would make tameable and what it could do. Try and be creative!
And yes, I know Slimes, Magma Cubes, Spiders, and Silverfish aren't really animals. But, I think a lot of people will vote for them, so I included them in the poll.

Silverfish. I love those things.

A bat. If you need something it can just fly there and get it for you holding it with its feet while it flies. If you hold the bat, it will give you night vision.
Slime - you could jump high and climb walls.
A bat, so you could possibly fly for a short duration and also kinda like the Pet Bat mod.

Too messy... It actually needs a whole dimension to himself so it doesn't break anything... Just imagine trying to walk an enderdragon...
Chickens! they would go under 1x1 spaces and they could pick up items in their beaks. with four chickens, they would jump off of cliffs to save you if you fall off, they would slow your fall and make you take half the damage!

1. Tired of animals being killed by monsters? The silverfish is fast and will automatically hide in the stone if it's in danger!
2. Scared of strongholds because of their hordes of silverfish? The pet silverfish will repell all other silverfish around and let you a clean path to the Enderdragon.
3. Sick of chasing unsuccessfully the blue shinies? The silverfish pet can easily cross the stone and indicate you the position of the closest DIAMONDS !
4. Want to attack monsters in mass? Rise an army of these worms and let them overflow the monsters while you sit there and enjoy the view.

Taming a villager? That's not taming, that's slavery xD
Please stop a second to consider a point. Listening to that thread, some people would like to mount on giant spiders so that they could climb the walls, and certainly taming them with their eyes (as there are no other bugs in vanilla Minecraft); some other people would like to tame small worm-like animals for no reason or try to mount on bats that are a lot smaller than them. Also, Minecraft is a game where, prior to 1.6, the only animal you could ride was a pig.
Now, consider my offer. You tame a villger giving him emeralds, therefore paying him for his services. Along with that, you will certainly exchange money with him every once in a while, considered as a kind of salary. And, anyway, it's either this, or dying from a zombie infection...
So, I think your argument is invalid :p
NOTE: This is to be taken as a humoristic point of view. I do not agree with any of the terms/do not accept slavery and think that it is one of the worst pleas of the human civilization.

1. Tired of chasing villagers all day to park them in a house for their own good? A tamed villager will follow you everywhere, and will stand wherever you ask him to stop by;
2. Want an effective automatic farming system which you don't have to take care of? The villagers will farm any plant for you! (simple idea from the fact that some villagers are farmers, and they have farms in their villages)
3. Sick of having monsters attacking you when you walk around at night? Enjoy a nice nocturnal walk in the sweet natural darkness on the forest, followed by your personal iron golem bodyguard, thanks to the number of villager pets you have!
4. Always in need of food when you can't get any? Bring your villager pet with you and you can trade a few emeralds against a grilled chicken, anytime you want!

I would say Squid. You would tame a Squid using raw fish. They're like the Horses of the sea. Although, Dolphins would make more sense, but sadly MC doesn't have dolphins.
Probably a spider, so you could climb over walls and stuff while riding on it.
