I'm kind of torn between cute and meh. I think they're an interesting edition to the game, with a cool animation, and great functionality. But do they fit in the nether. They seem just a wee bit out of place.
It honestly has the world's best animations

What platform?
Striders are my new favorite way to travel the nether (besides elytra)
#LavaPig
Pretty much just a lava pig! ^.^
Mario called he wants his pasta back
Not so bad...
How can you find that cute? It's one of the most scariest and ugliest mob i've ever seen my my entire life.
it looks like it's about to eat me
I feel like one more update after this would be the End, and then they shouldn't do any more big updates.
we need a cave update too.
True. Maybe a new ore as well.
I think an end update would be cool (even though we did get that in 1.9) but I also think that there is a lot more that could be added to the game. I hope all the biomes get an update at some point.
I agree with you.
maybe add stuff to the sky?
i really like it's abilties.
yeah me too
HALF LIFE 2?
SAME
What is happening to this game...and what is this little thing? Is it tamable, or at least like Endermen and won't attack you unless you provoke it?
it's being added in the nether update along with a bunch of other stuff
it spawns in the nether, can walk across lava without taking damage, and i thiiiink it can be tamed and saddled so that you can ride it around

Who created this?
Mojang did, it's a part of the game now whether we like it or not lol

it's also completely passive. | Makaneek
I like it for those reasons
it's adorable >w<
especially because of its clumsy, toddler-like movements and its head sways from side to side and gawd its shivers are so cute

What do you mean its adorable? its the most weirdest and ugliest mc mob i've ever seen
I Agree 3HeadedWither
idk I just find lots of the mc mobs unconventionally adorable like the endermen, silverfish, creepers, squids, salmon, spiders and recently the striders. Something about their movements and proportions just makes me smile and want to s q u e e z them
Uhm...... I Like Creepers, but not really any of the other stuff
... 😐
hes amazing i love him <3
Why does this exsist
I feel Mojang have lost the plot a little now. I've never thought they should add a way to traverse the lava (Let alone gold ore in the nether), so I'm tend not to agree with it. I blame those crying for netherite boats or boats made out of the fungus wood, so I hope they're happy now.
there never was a plot to minecraft
Are you kidding me? nether gold ore is one of my favorite things this update. I've wanted it for years.
annnndddd... be quiet. jk
If you want to understand my opinion, I like nether gold ore because it helps explain where the piglins get their gold gear from. I like consistency you know? Also, it'll make Piglins easier to deal with if you forgot your gold armor or ingots in the overworld. It's quite a handy feature, and in my opinion, a game called Minecraft needs every new and nongeneric ore type it can get.
what is this game becoming
I think it's pretty cute, the only thing I don't like that much is the expression, he looks really sad, that's why I wanna make a texture pack where he's smiling
I agree I think that if it would be smiling it would be a lot more friendly looking
HALF LIFE?
YES
I think it's cute, but did we really need another mob? Like, goodness, we already have so much mobs to play with, and if we want more mobs, we can just use mods. Plus, it's more work for people who make their own resource packs, and in turn, we can't seem to keep up with all the new things to texture.
I like the concept of it—a living obsidian/lava boat that we can use to traverse the game's huge lava lakes. However, the design could be improved or tweaked a little more. I don't know what it is, but it just seems off; perhaps it's the resolution of the mob? Xisuma mentioned it in his snapshots update video, and I kinda agree with him. That is not to say that I don't like the design though; I'm just saying there's a lot of room for improvement.
