My first shelter was a small indentation/shallow cave sort of thingy in a hidden hole inside a mountain, blocked off with dirt.
My first real house was made out of cobblestone ( I had enough experience by now to know it was better against creepers than wood.). it had an extensive underground system, as I never slept at night. it had a ditch and a wall surrounding it, and several underground passages, 1 leading to my spawnpoint (before i had a bed), some others leading outside, and 1 leading to another shelter further away, where I farmed all sorts of things. I had a crevasse right underneath my house, so I could easily go mining.

Permanent or just first overnight shelter?

If overnight shelter, I was exploring a jungle in demo and built a dirt shack at the side of a lakeside cliff because I thought mobs were so tough they were the kind of thing to 1-hit KO you.

If permanent, I built a seaside sand shack. I win.

My first house was a 2 story lake house with a kitchen, bedroom, two separate mines (one normal mine, and one diamond mine, the diamond mine got me 37 diamonds in my first day) and a bathroom with a toilet, later on my second day I created an entire town (pet shop, obsidian castle and a hotel) I have one question, am I a noob ?

At first I didn't have a house

But then I found out about Creative Mode and built myself into a small opening in the side of a hill with Stone, the only block I knew how to use since it was the first on the Hotbar

I built my house of wooden planks, on a lake. When I saw how to make a wooden door and a lever, I made a small house with the door and putted the lever a few blocks away. when I flicked the lever I was so disapointed the door didn't open......

The inside of a small hill. I dug out the interior, lived in it and later put walls from inside, and finally took away the remaining dirt from outside. Box house!

dont laugh... mine was a 3 down hole that was blocked.

I think it was a cave for most people.
