Doesn't run 24/7, but could be worth looking into:
http://www.planetminecraft.com/server/snicktrixnet/

It's a lobby server that allows you to make your own server in the network.

You get what you pay for, that simple. I have tried several others but always come back to MCPROHOSTING, they are simply the best.

BisectHosting is a great host once you decide your ready to pay and get into REAL mc hosting. They also have a tool where you can enter what your plans are plugin and mod wise and it will recommend a package (though I prefer manual).

Hahaha, I'm cracking up. REAL hosting is using a VPS.

REAL hosting is building a physical server and hosting it yourself.

Just homehost it.

Truely free server hosting

But seriously, good things in life aren't EVER free, unless you make them yourself.

Just download some online of course.

Now serious: Don't expect free stuff, ever. If you get something for free once, gladly accept it of course but don't start asking for it.

Ooooo free servers? While you're at it, find me a free $2,000 golden hamburger and a free unlimited supply of butterfingers. It has to be free because I don't want hosters who probably live hundreds of miles away from me coming to my door to ask me if I will buy their upgrade plan. I mean, it's not like I can track you by using your IP address from right here on PMC, right? Oh, wait! I CAN!

you aren't paying for a minecraft server, you are basically renting hardware to host a server on. They want to know where you live for billing reasons, every place where you buy something asks that. Legit companies usually wont come and kidnap you.

Like Google! They usually won't kidnap you!

Doesn't exist. Free 24/7 servers with a lot of RAM.

Be a man and host it yourself, a lot of sheeple will tell you otherwise. But home hosting is better if you have good specs and internet.

Buy it. Seriously, don't be cheap about it. If you're not old enough to be able to buy a plan online, then you probably shouldn't be starting a server in the first place.

^ This.

Firstly, hostings aren't a "rip off", they're perfectly fine. Machines cost resources, resources cost money. Last I checked, no hosting company has money growing on trees.

Secondly, if a hosting company is asking for your address and you are paying with a credit card, that is entirely normal.

Lastly, no one is just going to get you a free always running server because that would require an always running machine, which again requires resources and again requires money.
