Haunted pool room.
Okay, so I have a well-lit pool room deep underground, & even one peaceful mode standing perfectly still, I constantly hear walking. I checked; there are no tunnels close enough to the walls or floor that I should hear anything. I also only ever hear it on one side of the room. It's a consistent walking sound & when you're far enough a way it stops, them picks back up again when you get close.

I think lava makes a footstep sound...or thats what I have been told because I was mining on peaceful(like the little chicken I am) I had a wolf but he was sitting. All of the sudden I heard footsteps,I wasn't moving neither was my wolf. I was a good 50 blocks down so there was no passive mobs. It was before bats.... you should of seen how fast a typed /gamemode c ,made my do stand and fly to the surface......

I've heard it before it is most likely a sound glitch havent heard since 1.8 came out.

It might have just been a stray duck/pig/cow that has accidentally wandered into your cave and is stuck in a room

theres once, where i was playing alone on my server building a pvp arena, one portion of my world is destroyed by lava and fire. Well, I checked my server's activity log and see noone is in there except me. The water curtain became to lava curtain. Well who else could it be? Herobrine? some secret mob? I seriously dunno...

It isn't a slime, is it? The first time I heard one I was pretty freaked out, as they do sound like someone else working nearby.
Has happened to me... around 2 times I think. But I just thought it was a creeper in a room nearby or something.

It's when the sounds glitch up and play moments later, it's quite scary but it's actually nothing except you :3.

same here. i where playing alone, and suddenly i heard the sound of someone breaking blocks, and placing blocks. weird...This where on my private server. but still i where alone.
I also get that same noise in my mine on a PvP server. I heard more than just walking though. I knew that there was a spider spawner nearby (Which I have now deactivated) and
before that, I heard mining and digging too! But when I walked further away from the dungeon it disappeared and all I could hear were my footsteps. Also I had 1.7.3 on so it obviously couldn't have been Herobrine. (Right?)

Did you dig through the walls? :O
I dug through the floors to check. If I dug through the walls the poolroom would flood.
