Smelting is a long and laborious process. It would be nice if we could expedite the process with crafting recipes.
Coal and charcoal can smelt 8 items apiece. So what if we had crafting recipes where the coal or charcoal went in the center, with 8 smeltable items surrounding it?
8 cobblestone + 1 coal = 8 stone.
8 stone + 1 charcoal = 8 smooth stone
8 sand + 1 coal = 8 glass
8 raw beef + 1 charcoal = 8 steak
So on and so forth.
Then, the smelter would only be needed for the truly massive smelting tasks that require lava buckets and stuff to be able to do.

I have been working on this a bit in 1.19.3 and I have all of the recipes done, now I am trying to work on the giving of recipes to the player and there is a bug with how it works so I was wondering what your thoughts are on it. should I
give players all the smelt|craft recipes from the start
have them craft a knowledge book to give them all smelt|craft recipes

so I got the bug worked out and I will now start adding the actual functionality to everything. The way it currently works is when you obtain an item that would cause you to receive a recipe in the furnace and it will unlock the recipe inside of the crafting table as well.
I am also thinking of adding a way to obtain all of the recipes for this pack but what are your thoughts?

I'm interested in giving this a shot but I have a few questions first:
- Would the normal smelting still work like usual?
- Do you want functionality for only coal and charcoal to be crafted?
- Do you want everything that can be smelted applied or just certain things?
- what edition of the game are you looking for?

thanks for your reply, I might go back and add some more smelting later but I"m a bit busy at the moment but the pack should be 100% functional for now but if you see any other additions you want fill free to post them in the project comments and when I come back to the pack I can add those as well.
