I am un-able to open Minecraft after installing Opti fine. PLEASE HELPerror

I installed Opti fine and now Minecraft wont open. I went to install it and for some reason it didn't pop up in the Minecraft installations. So, I did the only logical thing I could do and went down into a new installation and manually inputted a file labeled Opti-fine.

have you launched the vanilla equivalent of the optifine version you installed yet? for example optifine 1.18.1, launch vanilla 1.18.1 then only after that install optifine 1.18.1

launch the vanilla version first, then reinstall optifine

Wait, no. I meant I DID install the launch, but I don't think I followed the tutorial correctly.

i-i mean... i just took a further look at the description. you probably need to wait sometime for the optifine installation to appear, and you can just manually put it in your installations buy scrolling in the list and you will eventually find it
