What happened?
I downloaded some maps from the PMC. Later, I added it to the save file of .minecraft.
A few hours later, I decided to play Minecraft. Then, the maps I played and added disappeared!
I don't know how to solve it. I use to have about 3 more maps I made myself.
What should I do, and what happened?
(I also checked the save file of .minecraft, all of the files were still there. But they weren't in the game.)

what type of file are they
I didn't understand fully, but they were just normal files.
It was at first ZIP files, so I changed it into normal files with a computer tool.

Some people don't realise you have to unzip files (took me forever to remember) so I was just checking on that.
Next best thing to do is as Atlantisplayz has mentioned, about removing the files and loading up the game to try again.
You could also try creating a new save to see if that triggers anything
Lastly ensure that your save file is where it should be and hasn't been moved due to the placing of new files (I highly doubt this will be the case)
sorry this is the best I can do -_-

Maybe you could try reloading Minecraft and restarting your computer. If it doesn’t work, then perhaps remove the files and put them back? I dunno, just a suggestion :P
