Like ScotsMiser said, this question isn't very specific. If you mean model engine the plugin, Maybe look for inspiration online or do look on Pinterest and Artstation for inspiration, it always helps to have a point of reference. Especially when 3d modeling.

It isn't clear what you're trying to make:

If by engine you mean train engine / locomotive, there are specific rail / train mods that could be helpful. I'm unclear whether even these would permit something good-looking to be built at player scale.


If, instead, you want to make a model of an ICRE (Otto or Deisel cycle) I think the primary challenge is going to be the inherent blockiness of MC.
Building as large as possible will help getting the curves to look passable, but MC seems a suboptimal choice (unless the point iof the exercise is to see how well the project can be made to look within MC's limitations).
