What do you think will get GotY? (Game of the Year)
As the title says.
I'm going for either Fallout 4 or Undertale.
If Car Soccer gets it I'll eat my hat, I don't own a hat, I'll buy one.
Not sure about Halo 5, The Witcher 3 or MGSV so I'll just have to wait. xD
Edit: the wait for my copy of Fallout 4 to be delivered is a painful one. Edit: delivered but the 20 GB download is screwing me over.
Update: Added poll, couldn't add everything due to limitations.

goty smash bos melee
i haven't played either, but i have to second OP- considering all the hype around both undertale and fallout 4!
I hope it's Undertale! It's just such a great game!
Fallout 4, Undertale isn't... Really good enough.
I mean, it's a good game, but it's indie. Indie games NEVER get GOTY.

Rocket League.
I have never had so much fun with a video game for so long in years. It's cheap, has additive gameplay, extremely cheap DLC, developers that actually LISTEN to their fanbase, and come on, SOCCER WITH CARS. It's genius in it's simplicity.
XYZ, prepare to eat your hat. xD

*prepares nice Steak for when Fallout or something other than Car Soccer wins*
At least give Rocket League one thing.
No matter what, it will get Sports Game of the Year. And it was voted as Best Game award in some Brazilian Video Game Con. (Brazil, liking a soccer game? Nooooo way~!)

Star Wars Battlefront.
Unfortunately while I love the Battlefront games (The first 2 and the beta for the 3rd) it's extremely under-liked, and has practically no hype.
Oh yeah, I forgot about SWB, still going with Fallout though~
You forget, XYZ
EA own Battlefront.
EA own Battlefront.
Didn't forget, what of it?
Undertale..
lol
lol
Life is Strange for me.
What about Splatoon?
I doubt it.
Just Cause 3. Straight away. Best game ever, I played the beta and it was fantastic.
Call of Duty Black Ops 3
PC Version has massive lag issues tho. :/
Call of Duty?
We're talking about Game of the Year, not 'Most Repetitive Cash Cow'.

^
I assume you haven't played any of the titles very much.
Probably.
90% of people that say Call of Duty is repetitive don't even play the games. xD

It's a decent series, but I didn't like Black Ops 3. It just felt so 'cartoony' and the lines that the characters say in game are so cliche.
Actually I've played all the CoD's from Call of Duty 3 to Bl'ops. T'was the total lack of change in the gameplay that kept me buying any more, though I will confess the campaigns had their moments where they got pretty fun.
More dynamic changes have occurred in the series since Advanced Warfare was released.
Since we're talking about an overall experience here, and not a singular game-mode loved by all in an arcade sense, I'd say RPG's this year have stood out.
Witcher 3
MGSV
Fallout 4
are probably the top three for the year. All have made some really large strides in the open-world sense; only natural that the most content-filled games are the most well-received. The times when games were a single campaign playthrough are coming to an end, at least, on the PC.

There's always Tales of Zestiria
As much as I love the Tales of Series, I doubt Zestiria will get it.
I expect Until Dawn to be among the nominees, but I doubt they will beat Fallout 4, Witcher 3 and MGS V.
So far Undertale is the highest ranked on Metacritic, well it's joint highest with Witcher 3.
Fallout 4 is doing well, but not as well as the hype would have you believe. It's a good game but if it get's GOTY it'll be because of it's marketing rather than the game itself, which defeats the point imo.
Personally hoping Undertale gets it. Because for a game developed by just one guy to hit this standard and recognition is completely remarkable. Undertale deserves it, but I don't know if it will compete with the marketing of other AAA games.

Witcher 3: Failed Exams because I was too busy playing this game and didn't study for even 1 hour.
Fallout 4: Because I got it 2 days ago and I so far have 12 hours of play time.

Yeah, Fallout 4. As some one who hasn't played it yet, I think the plot is that you get shot in the head by your father and have to go after him to get the water purification chip he took.
You also have to blow up an oil rig!
Ha! I haven't actually played Fallout 2 but I know the plot.
Cities Skylines!
I'm guessing The Witcher 3, but I wouldn't be surprised if Just Cause 3 or Fallout 4 gets it either
The candidates will probably be Star Wars: Battlefront 3(or just Battlefront) or Fallout 4. I haven't seen much gameplay of Fallout 4 but it looks good so far (been watching TheRadBrad play it) and Star Wars Battlefront looks amazing except for some missing gameplay.
I haven't played any Fallout games so far, so I think I'll go with SWB for GoTY

All of you are wrong. It's obviously going to be Squirrel simoolater 2
On a serious note; probably Fall Out 4 or whatever its called
Lumino City
Battlefront 3.
Bo3, Halo 5, CSGO, or Minecraft.
Fallout 4 by far. Just cause 3's nice tho..
Battlefront brings shame to the jedi order.

I find the lack of Rocket League disturbing.
Do all of you just hate sports? xD

I think it's just that most of us don't want to see a game about fast cars hitting a ball around win game of the year.
Then most people haven't played the game then.
Seriously, though, as someone who just lost 7 hours of his life to it, Fallout 4 wins it.
If not, Undertale, because that game is amazing.

Fallout 4 is currently rated lower than both Fallout 3 and New Vegas though...
Just cause 3 is the last potential candidate still to be released, but it's going to be messing around simulator 2015, fun, but not overly extraordinary.
Though the fact Undertale is the first time a true indie has even stood a hope of GOTY, well, that says a lot to me.
