Plot

In the town of Arietré, it's pretty nice, I guess. Though, there is one problem. Teens have been just basically vanishing from the town. No one sees them leave; they were there at twelve in the night, never seen again the next day. No one knows why or how it's happening, but it's happening. The humans disappearing are seemingly always between the age of thirteen and eighteen.; seemingly normal teens.

But, really, that's all the Towns Folk know. The real occurance is that, in a nearby mountain range, there's a cave in Mount Athede, where the bones of dead teenagers are littered. No, there isn't some kind of cult murdering teens in the town. It's not that. In truth, there's an ancient demon like being feeding in that cave. An undiscovered vein of a gas that knocks out humans alone is buried deep within the cave. Late at night, that gas is released onto the village and the surronding village area at exactly twelve at night. The gas doesn't wear off until six in the morning.. The demon lurks into Arietré at this time. It searches the town until it finds a living teenager. The demon takes the teen back to the cave, where it proceeds to murder the human. The soul of the teenager is then devoured, and the body is left to rot in the darkness. You may be asking by now, "Why only teenagers? What about adults?" right now. The answer to that is that the souls of teenagers are fresh, as in not worn by time and still pure yet mature, as young children do not have a fully devoloped body and mind.

Another question you may have is "Why is the demon doing that stuff? Is it just for s**ts and giggles?", which is a good question. The reason for needs to be explained furthur by going back a while. In ancient times, there was a demon king. He was larger and stronger than any human or monster, and he destroyed entire cities in mere several days. According to legends, a hero rose from the shadows, and with the swipes of a sword said to be given by the Godesses themselves, the demon king was sealed into the earth below our very feets for eternity. Or so everyone thought. Returning to our times, several years ago, the seal finally began to weaken. The demon king's sole dark aura escaped, causing corruption in humans, animals and monsters. Several weeks before the current events, the seal gave way more, letting go of the seal that held the Realm of Demons back from the mortal world. Demons escaped from the realm, and they entered our world. Innocent souls strengthened the demons. They killed innocent villagers in random towns and villages for that strength. Little known to the lesser demons, for the seal to fully collapse and free the demon king to unleash havock to the world once again, the seven souls of the seven relatives of the supposed heroes had to be taken from their lifeless bodies, and consumed by a single demon. That beast would solely become the temporary vessel for the demon king to use, until his full strength returned and he could take his own physical body back.

One of these horrible beasts found their way into the Arietré area. It nesstled in the mountain and began to feed upon the unknowing teens of Arietré. This demon is named Erexetra. It's similar to a praying mantis in body shape, except it's more reptilian than insect. Oh, and it's about the size of a bus or two. It's not the size of a little bug. Some humans have somehow became resistant to the knock-out gas. Whether or not they have seen Erexetra is unknown, but the fact that they are immune is expenentially important. Maybe they'll decide to take up the challange and risk their lives to try and defeat the beast. Maybe a couragous human (who's non-resistant) will try to in place of those who are too cowardly? But, if they decide to take up the risk, they have eighteen hours to do so. Demons don't forget faces.

Things like this have (and probably still are) happened(ing). The seven relatives of the ancient heroes are all in the royal family line. Oh, except the seventh. The seventh is a girl named Namayo, who works as a farm girl in the fields somewhere. The where-abouts of all seven aren't exactly known, though one of them live as the king of the entire Ikaru region.

2. Backstories must be at least a paragraph. Two or (preferably) more will obviously net you WAY better chances of getting accepted. (Per say it's a GOOD backstory)
3. Your character(s?) can't be OP or a "Mary-Sue". You should give them weaknesses if you think your character is too amazingly epic.
5. Being a fail-troll will obviously get you banished.
6. No, this will _NEVER_ be a server RP. Don't bother saying "Oh, this should totally be a server RP! Will anyone make us a server?".
