Teachers and wikipedia
Every time I have to do a school paper, the teacher tells the whole class "Don't use wikipedia, because it's all lies" and if someone uses it she gives them a zero. Every teacher I have had does this. I know a lot of you will say that you can go on the site and say that the earth is flat or something, but I have never seen something like that. Go on wikipedia and try to see how long it takes to find something of the sort. I just don't get why teacher are all on some crusade against wikipedia. I've used wikipedia on a lot of my papers and just write down some official sounding website or book as my source and

Protip from a college student: Don't source wikipedia. Look at their references and go to those pages and source them.
Yeah... that's a lot better than the rubbish I said earlier. XD
Disregard
Usually my teachers allow wikipedia if it has been backed up by another source.
I've only seen a false fact on Wikipedia once, and it was something nobody cared about; Someone had put SvC Chaos: SNK vs. Capcom 2, WWE vs. SNK, and WWE vs. SNK on the template for the SNK vs Capcom series, and those are non-existent games.
Wikipedia can be easily changed to false facts.
Okay, so my text book was just magically changing to support all the false facts running amok on wikipedia. Right.
I'm sure wikipedia has some sort of staff that checks the validity of each change. everything i've seen on wikipedia, I've been able to confirm with other websites. so its my belief that wikipedia has something in place
