I'll try it out. I hope it's awesome but in a way, I also hope it's not, just so I don't get into paying $ for virtual packs of cards. Can't say I'm a fan of that idea at all. They mention you can increase your deck via single player but they obviously can't sell packs of cards unless there's a real advantage in it. Not enough info for me to make a real decision though. Either way, I wish success for Mojang.

Whoa, this game is looking awesome already! But i also agree with Cyprezz, hope it won't be too awesome cause' just in case i get the urge to pay cash. It's so addicting!

It looks interesting, but I'm definitely in the group they discussed as a possibility pre-announce - the ones who'll hate it. The reason it took so long for me to try Minecraft is because it had 'craft' in the name.
I'ma have to agree with Max Scoville from D'toid who said something like "give props to Mojang for creating the exact opposite of sex."
I don't know. If you look at TF2, the items that you can only get through real money are simple cosmetic items only, with all functional items, even the new hats, being available for free. I also know of another game, DragonFable, where the super currency can be bought with $, but you can also get it slowly through regular play in small amounts.

I can't think of a way they could add cosmetic cards to a ccg. I guess they could add card with alternate art and animations. Primarily, I'm sure they will have some powerful cards that can be bought but not directly earned. They will have crappy cards that can only be bought as well, but they said "all scrolls can be bought and sold on an auction house" If you play the single player enough, I'm sure you could eventually sell enough of the earned cards to buy the bought ones. (with the ingame currency) also "The ingame currency can also be used to buy new spell books"

Dude... what did you just say? That YuGiOh and pokemon are "bad"? Are, bad?? ARE BAD?!?!?!! What is wrong with you! Those games were an intricate part of my young childhood days! They were awesome! Well, Idk too much about YuGiOh anymore, but Pokemon is like uber awesome with Black and White now, after they've learned their mistakes with diamond and pearl. Like seriously, those games are soo good that they're ony second to best to kanto. That's saying something. They did almost everything I ever wanted in the pokemon games in it. I occasionally play pokemon cards, but since they're going online now, I think that scrolls may have a toughtime.

I wonder if they'll honor the first agreement for buyers of MC. Ya know where he said if you buy my game you'll get all my games for free from this point forward. I doubt they'll honor that. But we will see.

Sorry I think it is a fail idea, minecraft was innovation for a market that was dieing for it. This is e-magic the gathering. If they are not working minecraft 6 months from this release, I will go with the many competitors that will come up in mojangs stead. Sorry I think this is a joke.
The original agreement for minecraft was not for all future games, it was for all future minecraft content, in case he releases buyable DLC, which alpha players will get for free.
I am not, and have never been a fan of CCGs. I know too many people IRL who got addicted to Magic the Gathering. I've played it, and I just don't see the point. I'm into German board games like Settlers of Catan and Agricola. Much more entertaining, and you can't "stack the deck."

Steve Jackson games makes good card games, because they are not 'collectible' in the traditional sense, since the cards you get are always the same for the same expansion. Munchkin is full of delicious backstabbary.
see, now I don't even consider Munchkin a CCG, nor do I consider Illuminati a CCG. And I own both of them, including millions of expansions.
Sounds way better than Minecraft. Hopefully it's not written in Java.
Sounds Like a decent game Rather all time and resources got put into minecraft just cause its still in beta and most likely has a while to go,But it sounds pretty cool and if they were thinking it up but couldn't find it anywhere just imagine it could turn into a series of their own so keep up the good work Mojang!

I heard the Mojang was getting sued by The people who made "Elder Scrolls". Idk if thats legit, but thats just what I've read.

Scrolls sounds like a lame game.
Bethesda suing them because they think that the name "Scrolls" sounds too much like "Elder Scrolls". So ridiculous since this game looks NOTHING like the elder scrolls.
