Help with Wordpress?!
I'm having an issue with a wordpress plugin, BuddyPress. Half the time when a new user registers, they don't get the activation email. I've tried hiring someone to fix this but they couldn't do it, and I have no idea how to fix it :L It's a really big issue because nobody can register. If you think you could help, say it in this thread and give a solution and if neccesary I'll pm you the login info.

Our gaming community uses WordPress unfortunately .-.
Aside from that we also use BuddyPress and it runs just fine. I couldn't help with the email part, because ours uses Steam authentication to login.

Why "Unfortunately"?
I just don't enjoy developing with the platform, I find it very slow as well. I would rather just make a website from scratch, then try fixing and developing around wordpress.

It isn't buddypress that sends the email's, if you've linked the buddypress to wordpress accounts then it uses the wordpress settings to send them. So search for wordpress email problems and you'll probably find your solution, I have the same setup and mine seems to work fine too.
Its probably going in the spam email..
When I made a test account, it worked just fine. But some friends who wanted to test my site didn't get the registration email.
Possibly they have a limit to the amout of emails sent out/ a very strict spam filter.
Contacted support about it through email, that could be it. Thanks for the help, that's most likely the issue
I expect bluecloud is blocking something. Webhosts block all sorts of things like sockets and ports. Really you should host your site on a VPS or something.
Just a suggestion but the JSON-API plugin is way more powerful, you can build your own site instead of using crummy wordpress. It gives you a much higher level of integration, and ultimately, (if you know what you are doing), a much more professional website.

The support team responded:
Thank you for contacting Professional Hosting Support. To confirm that PHP Mail () function is active on your hosting account I uploaded a test PHP mail script. The email was sent from the server and received successfully into my inbox. The issue that you are facing sounds as if it has to do with the scripting. As we do not support custom scripting we are unable to determine what is causing your script no to function. If you are using a plugin to manager your website's form mail. you may wish to consult with the developer of the application. It is also possible that the emails are being delivered into your customer's spam folder.
So it's most likely a problem with the Wordpress Buddypress itself. I don't know how to fix that, so any volunteers? .___.
