Hey I'm going to be building a new computer for myself, and I need to know if it has the specs for a no lag server.

1Tb hard drive (1000 GB or gigabytes)
4GB of memory
3,2Gigahertz or GHZ
and 600w power

None of you are being any help at the moment. I allready know this, I asked "Does my comp have the power for a no lag server" not "what do i need for a no lag server. So before you awnser a question, read it correctly.

Dude its simple, you just need to know where the stuff goes. Plus If you buy a comp it will cost 3 or 4 times more than making it.

No it's not It's how much RAM you have to store the player and world info

Trust me that site is useless and quite inaccurate. It depends how many people you want to support. The main requirement is upload speed, then RAM. It would also help if you have a dual core processor and of course 64-bit java. Also depends on whether you are running minecraft on the same computer you are hosting on.

As you start wanting to support a large amount of people you also need a high read/write speed on your hard drive - eg using a SSD, and then potentially choosing a high quality sata-3 SSD. Then you can also move onto using a RAMdisk.

I'm fairly certain (and don't hold it to me if I'm wrong) that it's the router and network that determines the speed of the server..
