Recently, something happened to me, and I feel pretty bad about it. I will write about it, and please tell me if you think I made a good decision or not.
My best friend that I've known since I was 4 is having a birthday soon. He's going to somewhere for a week to see his family, and he wants me to go with him, but my Aunt planned to take me to a trip at that same time. I didn't really want to go on the trip, but I wanted to be nice about it and go with her. But when I was told my friend was going on the trip at the same time, I called my Aunt to see the details. She said that we were going there the day after my friend is leaving, so I asked her If we could leave from the trip early. She said that we couldn't, so we said goodbye and hung up. Later, she called and asked if I really want to go. I was honest and I told her "no." But, she had already planned, and paid for the hotel we would stay in. So, now she's super mad at me, and I feel really bad about it.
Please tell me if I mad a bad choice or not, and be honest.

You should have told her before. If you really want to go with your friend tell your aunt that he's been your friend for a long time and you really want to go with him, she should understand.
Call her right now and plan something to do with her in exchange for letting her down. Go with your friend and everyone should be happy.

Honestly, You made a good choice. If you don't want to go, then tell her you don't want to. Your aunt shouldn't be mad either. I mean that was your best friend since 4 years old, as you said, and so that is really important. And if you dont even want to go on the trip with your aunt, and she asked you if you really wanted to go, then she really shouldnt be mad at you.

Yeah, Family comes first too, but I honestly just didn't want to go. My mistake was I told her after she spent all of that money on the trip.
