Can you get a IPhone 4 free with a contract?
Hi, I heard that you can get a IPhone 4 free with a contract? IF that's true is the phone really "yours" and is it the same as if you bought a regular iphone?

Well it depends. My plan, stated that if a use my iPhone 4 for a year, I could get an automatic, free upgrade to the newest model - iPhone 5s
As they merely replace my phone, yes, its mine

I did it with Verizon. They charged me 30 bucks though. Nothing is as it seems.
What did it come with?
Just the iPhone 4 and a 2 year contract signing.
With a contract, you're paying both the bill and for the phone. That's why it's so expensive. But it saves you a few dollars, than buying the phone straight up and getting a plan. Like how I do, $400 phone (S III) with a plan $27 a month. Which ends up getting costly. With a plan, you'd probably be going for ex. $50 a month, $30 maybe goes to the plan, with the rest paying for the cost of the phone. So you don't have a huge bill to pay up front.
Well I mean it's still cheaper then buying the phone and then getting a plan for it.
Yes. You own the phone under the condition that you stay with your phone service provider for a specific amount of time. Most companies are trying to not do contracts now though.
Oh, sweet. I see. I saved up 700 for a iphone but I'd rather just get this which is a lot cheaper.
See, you think it's cheaper, but it's not. If you don't pay for the phone you're going to pay a lot more for the contract over the long run.
No? My 4S was still $100 when I got it vs $600 and didn't cost near that. Sure there was the actual service, but you would pay for that even if you paid for the whole phone itself.
