I use windows 8, Its not bad, Just some peapole get used to windows 7 and cant use windows 8. I suggest windows 10 but since there isnt an option for that windows 8
The way I see it, Win 8.1 is updated, is optimized for many things and there is help if it breaks.
While on the other hand, Win 7 is just old now. Its unsupported and not as fast as the newer Win 8, there is no reason not to upgrade, unless you are the kind of person to hate an OS just because its different from its older version.

What if the desktop has an x32 CPU and 2gb RAM? Windows 8.1 is very good, it has more support and runs better than windows 7. And Linux is good - I mean for free, more security and stuff, it's great! If you're gonna bash stuff (linux pun intended) then at least provide an argument for it...

You can't have iOS on a PC, and an Android PC would suck. iOS and Android are both good for what they are - mobile OSes. Not for PCs.
For a gaming PC, Windows 8.1 is the way to go. Also, please include Linux, because I'm sure some people around here will want that option too.
I didn't mean on a PC, I meant in general.
Depends on what you are looking for really... there's no single best OS for everything IMO

Windows 8, with dual boot Linux for coding/networking. #DualBootMasterRace

Windows 7 and 8 are identical, Windows 8 just has Metro stuff added...
No they are not identical, i used to have Windows 7, it was great then i upgraded to windows 8 and i hated my pc.
whenever i open a program it says "You can open it using another software!"
whenever i accidently put my cursor on the top left corner and drag it. it screws up the screen. and worst of all. it updates without my permission, for example i was using it and in mid game it just updated and i couldn't do anything for an hour.
i regret getting windows 8.

Facepalm... No, they are not identical... Far from it in fact. Windows 8 has an entirely different UI and the experience is very different from windows 7, it's not just "metro stuff".
Ms_RavenBut Linux is the best.
Linux is a really powerful OS... too bad it's only widely used in servers and does not have many home users. Therefore compatibility wise windows is still the way to go.
Why is Windows 7 even on the list?
