I was wandering what is preferred PS4 or Xbox 1.

PC is the real console. Plus, you get the right to say you're better than everyone!
But since you probably won't join us, maybe make your decision based on console exclusives like Halo: CoD Edition or Ratchet & Clank. Though, I would personally get the new Xbox 1S.

Go with the one your friends are going with, there isn't much point of playing on a PS4 when all your buddies are xbox 1 and the other way around ^^.
And if none of your friends have a console, get the one with the exclusive games you prefer the most

Depends on which games you want. I want some stuff that's exclusive to PS4, so that's what I'd buy if I had to pick one.
