I need a new storage drive.
I've been using a 2005 250Gb HDD for 10 years.. And I need some new storage.
I have a budget of around $30, so probably not an SSD xD.
I need at least 500Gb, preferably 1TB.
I need something fast, finding an HDD thats faster then a 10 year old HHD with 12Gb of space remaining.. Shouldn't be too hard..

Spend about $50 and you can get a 7200 RPM 1TB drive, there's not really any point in spending less.
Considering that his harddrive is 10 years old, his connector type may not be the serial ATA of today, and it may still be parallel ATA, and with those, I think the largest drives released for PATA/IDE are probably around the 320GB range, and PATA drives are pretty expensive. If you DO happen to have a free SATA plug on his desktop if its new enough (1.5Gbps may I mind), then it's only a matter of wether or not his BIOS supports such a large capacity (for 2004-06).
