I need a new computer, Prebuilt or Custom built ONLY!
I am in the market for a new computer, to replace my 10 year old desktop.
My budget is around $300(Yes, I'm aware thats very little.), and I can't build a computer for the reason of "You might break it, and we're out thousands of dollars." exact quote!

If you change your mind about building. (Btw: I disasembled an old IBM computer and reassembled it without being as careful as I should've been and now my grandparents are using it as a Linux media centre...... Not saying you shouldnt be careful) Anyways, try this keeping in mind that I'm Canadian and these prices are Canadian. Also keep in mind that Windows costs about $100.

Is the R7 240 better than the A10 APUs, when it comes to performance? I haven't really seen much about it. If not, you should revise that list with APUs in mind.

I really like desktops, but my desktop is pretty much unusably slow.
Go for the laptop. End of story.
Honestly, yeah... Just buy the laptop. $300 is pretty much nothing, but the AMD A8 APU performs pretty well. Its an excellent deal, actually. Before you buy it, make sure the build quality is good.
Also, tell your parents that its pretty difficult to break components as long as you're careful.
