For Christmas I got a Samsung monitor to use as a second display as I was already using my television. My television accepted both HDMI and VGA whereas the new monitor only accepted VGA (I had been using VGA on my television up until now) and my PC only has one VGA port and one HDMI port. When using HDMI on my tv rather than VGA (because the new monitor is using it) my tv cuts off the outside of the screen - I looked into this and found out it is a problem with just about all tv's and mine happens to be one which you can not access the settings to fix and so I bought a VGA - HDMI adapter. Here is how my current setup is:
Pc --(HDMI port adapted to VGA)--> New Monitor
Pc --(VGA)--> TV
The TV now works fine without it cutting off, however the problem changed; now my new monitor won't even display anything other than a floating box which reads "Check Signal Cable" followed by "Analog" or "DVI" (whichever I change it to) and it does nothing.
Please can any of you lovely people help fix this? I just want to play with dual monitors ;_;
TV: Bush 24" Widescreen LED TV
Monitor: Samsung 23" ?????? (I can check the back for anything you need)

Download and install Speccy and post a screenshot so we know for sure if you are running integrated or not.

Ok then I must be on dedicated because I am able to run dual monitors. :/ sorry
