So, earlier I thought that I should upgrade my crappy mac earphones and get a headset. I'm probably going to want something with a USB plug and surround sound.

I have abut $100 to spend, and I'm thinking of buying a Razer or maybe a Turtle Beach. What do you guys use/recommend?

Thanks for all of the help, but I think I'll go with the MDR-V6.

I have a Turtle Beach X32 for my Xbox 360, great for playing with friends to hear them and the game, or just hear the game with great quality audio. Honestly I love my headset.

Never buy a gaming headset. The sound quality, build quality, and Mic quality is always sub par. I always recommend to get a great pair of headphones which will do everything better and a separate microphone like the Zalman ZM-Mic 1. Use the guide previously posted for more information.

For about $100, the MDR-V6 (or 7506) are great. They're made for studio monitoring, so you'll hear great detail and neutral sound.

As far as my knowledge goes, Razers are better than Turtle Beaches.

My brother uses a turtle beach, and he loves it. It has amazing sound quality and a microphone that you can mute/unmute with a small controller attached to the cord. I think you should defiantly get a headset. I use apple ear buds, and while the sound quality is okay for ear buds, (and it has a microphone) i'm going to upgrade soon too.
I hope you find an awesome headset!
