Garry's Mod. So much content, updated every day, so many gamemodes. The problem is that certain game modes will require textures from other games you have to buy.

But have no fear! You can download the textures, so your friend should be able to see everything. I'm not sure how much GMod costs now, but it's always around $10, and it's almost never slow. Plus, you can even use the built in Console/API to record gameplay.
