Hello everyone!

Last time I made a topic about my revolving sun teaser song which got really good feedback! So... Here we go again!

I made a fakebit loop which might be a game menu music or something
Anyhow here's the link to Newgrounds Page
http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/546270

Tell me what you think about it! =)
Thanks! ~Arsky

I really like it, with most loops you can tell where it loops but the notes really mash together well. Great piece of music especially considering it's 8-bit

That's not 8 bit. You have at least six distinct hardware voices in there.

Get back to me when you're using a real chip, tracker kiddie.

No, it sounds like something thrown together in a DAW by someone who has no understanding of what 8bit hardware is actually capable of.

No, I'm serious. You have mislabeled this; there is nothing 8bit about it. The only people who will agree with you are people that don't know what 8bit actually means.

It doesn't SOUND bad, but it's NOT 8bit, so don't call it that. You could call it fakeBit at best. What you are doing is like playing the tuba and calling it a guitar solo.

If you really think that it is made badly you could maybe consider giving constructive hints/tips how to improve it. That what just said was nothing near constructive criticism.

Anyhow it is true that it is not real 8-bit song and I clearly know it, but 8-bit is a genre which reminds people of those really old games. I don't want to set a war about this, just saying.

You fail to understand. 8-bit is not a genre; it is a method of composition. You did not compose in eight bits. You used a digital audio workstation to make retro-arcade sounds. The composition itself it not bad, however, it is NOT 8-bit.

PigLadAlAlright, fine. Lets see you make a better 8-bit track.

First, it's not even a competition, because his isn't 8-bit in the first place. His is fakeBit.

Second, here you go.

The software is called LSDj, running on a USB flash cartridge. This is how you make actual 8-bit: by using 8 bit hardware.

Agreed. Cipher does not need to be negative, this person made something and just wanted feedback, not a lesson on what 8-bit is.

It's awesome, I've been listening to it for ages now It's a really fluid loop, not annoying like loops that have a distinct ending, your loop seamlessly plays - Ignore Cipher, While 8-Bit is based on the hardware used to generate the song, Most "Retro" songs are labeled as 8-bit, and it's the easiest way to find retro music

You are? We are all disappointed in you. All this person wanted was feedback for something he/she made and go off and rant on 8-bit. Nobody here wants to learn what 8-bit really is as that's old school. People these days do call anything retro 8-bit or 16-bit, or etc. But my point is, if you have nothing nice to say, don't say it. I know it makes you mad in some ways that people are using different terms then your used too, but stop living in the past, and start living in todays world.

It's not a flame war, it's just a bit of a silly argument by some users who don't know anything about what is and is not 8bit music. It's remained somewhat civil, for now, although a few seem to be attempting to make this personal.

Also, more Danimal Cannon, because 8bit music + guitar == amazing.

Also, Bit-Shifter - king of 8bit.
