Poll: What skin editor(s)/program(s) do you use?
Now this being asked on a Planet Minecraft forum, I do expect most results to be PMC/MC Skin3D, however I would still like to consider the results even though it's a biased place to ask. Just happens to have one of the most diverse skin making group readily available to answer this question;
What skin editor(s)/program(s) do you use?
Let me clarify. Any skin-based editor is made and focuses on creating Minecraft player models. This usually includes a 3D model view (Or sometimes just 2D). This is what most players use almost strictly to create their skins. However, skins can be created in other programs in 2D format, like Photoshop or Medibang etc.
When selecting an option, if you use more than one of the options, select the one that you use primarily please.
I'd also love to hear about what programs and editors (or any other methods) in the comments. You can even give me your skin editor journey if you'd like to share, I know some of you are very talkative. I am just trying to learn all of these methods to pick out which editor people prefer/how to make a better user-friendly editor. All and any help appreciated!
Sidenote: Check out my review blog for questioning what the best MC skin editor is.

I use MSS (Minecraft Skin Studio)
used to use an app called Minecraft Skin Studio it costs like 5 bucks lol. I just use skinseed now.
im a fan of the classics - mcskin3d <3
I started using PMCSkin3D when I started making skins and still use it. It is easier than using any 2d one because I can see everything as a whole skin and edit it that way.
i started with novaskin but then i quickly changed to the skindex, stuck with that for awhile then started using minersneedcoolshoes i liked it better than the skindex but it made my skins look horrible and was overall glitchy so i moved to pmcskin3d and its probably the best ive used so far in my opinion and im not saying that just because we're on pmc i just genuinely think that.
I use Adobe Photoshop CC for basically everything.
I've had MCSkin3D ever since I joined PMC, and I never stopped using it, even after the release of PMCSkin3D.
well i use skin craft game its perfect
Editors I used throughout the years: NovaSkin (braincells weren't able to handle it) >> Skindex >> MCSkin3D (still the best for me coz, of the catalog on the left side that has folders for you to organize) >> PMCSkin3D (coz they added HD now) but I'm most likely to shift between MCSkin3D and PMCSkin3D from time to time.
PMCSkin3D is Really Good!
But the problem is I can't use it offline.
I wish it was downloadable.

I had it offline in app form. It stopped working a while ago though.
from my experience, minersneedcoolshoes isn’t good. The editor can make your skins look more better than they actually are. So when you try to post them somewhere else, they can likely end up looking worse than you thought.
Piskelapp
I've used MCSkin3D for the majority of my skinning work involving default resolution player skins. However, I might start shifting to PMCSkin3D to create mob skins as well as HD player skins.
skindex :)
I use Photoshop and then I usually don't preview my stuff since I'm confident in my skill, but if I do preview it, I just import it into my 3D software.
When I do make skins it's in Paint.Net. Previewing the skin is the only inconvenient part.
Jumping back and forth between skin programs and photo editors is always a pain, but usually so worth it
I find that GIMP works well for Minecraft skins. It's a photo editor, so I have available all sorts of tools to experiment with.
Biggest perk of photo editors, the ability to use many tools not available on most skin-only editors
I pretty much changed editors when Skindex updated. I don't like the updated version at all as it moved everything in places I didn't like. PMC's editor kind of has the tools in the same area, but I like it a lot better anyway. Not sure what people mean by it being hard to understand?
I find it's mostly the layout and overwhelming amount of features. There's almost everything there, but not in convenient places, ya know? It all ends up depending on muscle memory
Yeah. I won't judge those who don't use it, though-- everyone has their own preference. I realize my comment sounded a bit harsh without meaning to.
I use the Skindex editor just because I'm used to it and enjoy how simplistic it is. But I use PmcSkin3D for mob skins and adding lenses into glasses. I also tend to use Medibang Paint Pro for making a skin fit a certain color scheme.
If it wasn't for me never wanting to spend super long on a skin I'd probably use PmcSkin3D more often because it's just better overall, but I'm lazy and unfortunately don't have all the time in the world.

Sometimes it's hard to change from what you're used to, and I get that. I used Skindex as well until they fell way behind in updates (Like transparencies)
Oh, yes, very much so. They've had the new editor for however long and they still haven't fixed the glitch where you can't erase one arm without pixels going nuts. I'm currently using PmcSkin3D to get used to it.
I usually use Nova Skin even though it is a bit crabby, so when i do very special skins or alex model i use pmcskin3d as it works better for some types of skins.
Bless your little soul, Nova Skin is so buggy and hard to use
tell me about it :c
skindex, since it's easier to use for me
Yeah, Skindex is a super simple program and great for anyone not into serious skinning and doesn't take too much time to learn. Thanks
I'm using PaintDotNet image editing program.
Ohh! Another one I hear people using a lot, and even a link for people who want to try it. Thank you, love it
In my opinion, PMC3D skin maker ish da best 10/10
That's certainly an opinion alright, thanks pal
minecraft skin studio for mobile!
That is one of my favorites for mobile users, although I can't remember, do you have to pay for it?
