Hi Everyone!

This is a topic I made for Palettes. This is for people that don't know how to pick good colors, and for people that love picking colors. Because I want you to make your palette, and send it to me.

How it works:

When you sent it to me, I will post it in "The Bag of Palettes". When I have done that, everyone are allowed to download and use your palette, but I will of course give you credits for the palette that you made.

Reason why I made this:

The reason why I made this is because I see a lot of skins on PMC that has good shading and detail, but its so many bad colors. I want to change this. This is not only for using other people palettes, its for learning from them. That is the way I learned picking better colors, and I still do every day!

I never understood the need for a palette unless you are making a NES style skin, or a skin in the style of a certain 16-bit/32-bit game.

The palettes help solidify your shading, and keep you from using to weak a contrast.

Meh, I'm not good at using palettes for shading (It makes it look over-shaded to me,) so whatever.

I just whipped up this just then:

I don't really have any tips to think of right now, but if you have a question abut skinning, shoot me a PM and I'll be happy to help.

Here's a gold palette. Gold's pretty hard to get right, but this might help.

This is not necessary, since anyone could find them. We need palette's that were created by PMCer's.

Also, one thing I'd like to remind people of is this: If you're just starting out and have problems with colors, it's fine to use these palettes from people friendly enough to make them available for anyone. However, remember that you did not create those and therefore should credit the original maker of the palettes. And don't stick to those, try to make them yourself after a certain point.

Happy skinning!

I have this brown and green palette laying around which I tend to use now and again. While I often push the idea of creating ones own colours - I don't mind sparing a few in order to help people out.

If you are a new skinner starting out, or just trying to improve, I would recommend using the dropper tool on each of the colours in the palette to see how the original owner picked each colour and which sliders move to make the colour darker/brighter.

This is an interesting idea, I don't need palettes myself, cause I make each one specific for a skin, but this could help people get better shading/look on their skins.

I don't really believe in palettes because they are restricting. I have OCD, and even I can't stand that "easy on the eyes" bullcrap.
