Guys very very thanks for eveything you teach me of course you can say more if you want and can... It really helps!
I can teach you ok so first you have to chose your base color then when you go to shade all you have to do is take that color and make a small yet knowdisable diffrence darker and when you want to hi-light you do the same thing but lighter! you and when you are shading make sure not to go over bored I had to try a fue times throw trile and error till I got some thing I was happy with on a account on skindex called VannyKiller if you want you can go check it out!
Thanks!
Look at references and do research on shadows and highlights. Also look at other people skins for inspiration, just don't copy though.
And basically what everyone else has said below.
(Also here's my as secret powerful technique, Hue-shifting)

Don't ask me, I have the same problem too
Ok
i don't think i'm at the level to personally teach anyone skinmaking yet but i can offer a few tips
1. try and find other skinmakers you like and take inspiration from their shading style
2. try using hue shifting. it's a fairly easy way to add more depth to your skins
3. trust the process, it might take a while before you get to a point where you're comfortable with shading but i swear you'll get there soon enough as long as you keep working to improve yourself

Try with simple gradients first. Make them in differents shapes, as a grid...
Thanks!
With all art forms, I think the best way to learn how to do something is to study and mimic another artist's work. This isn't encouraging stealing but learning the techniques of other artists. With you wanting to learn how to shade, you could view how some skin creator shade their own skins. I myself imagine a light source coming from the top left or right when I shade. I also keep in mind a rule: to not be afraid to shade dark. Shadows exist in our world and art looks nicer when some realism comes in.
Have fun makin' skins!

thank you!
Also, if you don't have to courage to do it, you can try to mix a few colors and paste them on the original texture. It looks nice! I usually do this on most of my skins.
Thank you!
