How to install Minecraft Data Packs

With this data pack you can use the smithing table to upgrade your equipment to the next tier!

If you upgrade your gear, all enchantments, tags and even the custom name is kept!

Upgrade order:
Wood ➞ Gold
Leather ➞ Gold
Stone ➞ Gold
Chainmail ➞ Gold
Gold ➞ Iron
Iron ➞ Diamond

To upgrade to a tier, you need a block of its material.
To upgrade an item to Gold, you need a Block of Gold.
To upgrade an item to Iron, you need a Block of Iron.
To upgrade an item to Diamond, you need a Block of Diamond.

Items you can upgrade:
Sword
Pickaxe
Axe
Shovel
Hoe
Boots
Leggings
Chestplate
Helmet
Horse Armor
(If I have missed any items that you should be able to upgrade please let me know)

One of THE BEST datapacks ever made, super practical, its such a shame it doesn't work anymore for 1.20 but it was awesome while it lasted.

I doesn't work anymore in 1.20, I might remake a similar system for future versions

would you be avle to change it to an ingot instead of a block because this is way to over priced and can the tools keep their name please

I chose a block since keeping the enchantments is worth way more than a single ingot (a chestplate costs 8 to begin with) so I won't change that but you could, by digging through the files and changing "_block" to "_ingot" and the tools already keep their name - as seen in the second picture..

i like the cost of a block. this is good for enchanted stuff from other datapacks and even iron end loot. gives a bit of a cost to the upgrade instead of feeling like a cheat.

This probably would be hard to do but could you make it so that if the item is enchanted it costs a block and if the item isnt enchanted it would be an ingot? Or possibly add a settings menu in chat to change the cost?
