NOTE: I saw a lot of people complaining about bugs and other flaws with this Origin for little over two years now and I finally got around to fixing it and improving on the original concept of the Inchling itself. It doesn't use any code from Extra Origins, so you don't need it at all for this.

I also wanted to add this isn't a diss towards the original inchling concept or a "I did better" type of thing. The name comes from the fact that the original concept was a "hardcore inchling" intended to act and be more realistic in terms of how a species like this would be if it existed. I got a lot of messages and people saying it was an "improvement" over the original Inchling because it added and fixed some things the original didn't have, and people wanted. To make things easier for finding the Origin, I changed the name to the current one and it seemed to be the right choice because both downloads and views increased drastically. The whole concept of improving just stuck.

For this update, I wanted to actually improve on my take on the origin and add and more importantly balance out the origin, something that I did notice was missing from the Extra Origins Inchling. This version aims to be more balanced and fix common complains and issues that were present in the original version.

It also works on fixing common mistakes and problems that are common with inchlings. The climbing for example is extremely faster compared to the default climbing you see from these kinds of Origins. Jumping has also been changed, now you can jump a full block without slabs or stuff like that. And the taking damage when you fall has been drastically changed, you can now drop from up to 3 blocks without taking damage but falling from 4 or more blocks will make you take damage.

Improved Inchling datapack is made for the fabric mod, Origins. You must have it for this pack to work. This datapack also uses the Pehkui mod which you must have to get the designed player height.

This Pack Adds:
- Custom Origin

Origin Detail:

Icon: Spider Eye
Impact: remove_circleremove_circleremove_circle
Description: Tiny and agile, Inchlings navigate the world with unmatched stealth and vertical prowess. Their delicate frame and unique metabolism offer both advantages and challenges. From effortlessly evading nature's obstacles to experiencing intense sugar rushes, Inchlings tread a fine line between nimble advantages and vulnerable limitations.

Positive check_circle:

- Inchling Ascendancy: Drawing from their innate connection to the tiniest crevices and surfaces, Inchlings have evolved a swift and seamless climbing technique which allows them to glide up vertical terrains with the grace and speed of a wall runner. [Primary]
- Delicate Dodger: The Inchling's nimble form effortlessly evades nature's prickly defenses. Thorns and brambles pose no threat, and even the stickiest of cobwebs can't hinder their swift movement.
- Featherlight Glide: Harnessing the lightweight essence of a feather or the aerodynamic nature of paper, Inchlings can momentarily glide through the air. This allows them to descend gracefully and turning potential falls into controlled flights, ensuring a soft landing every time.
- Silent Stride: The Inchling's delicate and lightweight frame grants them the unique ability of moving with such quietness and precision, they become undetectable to Sculk Sensors.

Neutral pause_circle_filled:

- Sugar-Fueled Frenzy: The Inchling's unique metabolism reacts intensely to sugar. Consuming it triggers a powerful "sugar rush", granting them unparalleled speed and enhanced saturation. However, indulging too much or too often in this sweet temptation risks overstimulation, potentially leading to nausea, blurred vision, and rapid hunger depletion.
- Companion Mounter: Inchlings can mount and ride other players and entities. Whether seeking a vantage point, swift transport, or simply bonding with allies. [Secondary]
- Efficient Metabolism: The Inchling's compact physiology conserves energy with remarkable efficiency, reducing their need for frequent sustenance. However, the exertion of sprinting or swimming, given their size and the greater distances covered, accelerates their hunger, demanding a careful balance of speed and endurance.
- Minuscule Majesty: Embodying the essence of diminutive stature, Inchlings have been granted the unique advantage of being the tiniest beings in the realm.
- Nimble Nature: The Inchling's delicate frame, while reducing their heart count, gifts them with unmatched agility, allowing for rapid strikes. However, their compact stature demands closer engagements, slightly limiting their combat and building reach. In this balance of vulnerability and speed, the Inchling thrives.

Negative remove_circle:

- Burdened Armor: While Inchlings can don armor, anything heavier than leather weighs them down significantly. This added weight slows their movement.
- Delicate Swimmer: Water currents are more challenging for Inchlings due to their lightweight nature; thus, they have more difficulty swimming.
- Fragile Bones: The Inchling's tiny frame is more susceptible to damage, making them take an additional 10% damage from all sources.
- Slow Miner: Their small stature makes mining slower for Inchlings.

Version: 2.1.2 & 2.1.3 : by Overgrown 05/14/2024 9:47:28 amMay 14th

📜Improved Inchling Origin 2.1.2 - Changelog

🐞Bug Fixes🐞

- Slow Miner: Resolved an issue with the "Slow Miner" power that didn't allow users to break certain blocks such as grass, flowers, crops, and other blocks with a hardness of 0.
- Sugar-Fueled Frenzy: Addressed the critical bug where players suffered from endless nausea, hunger, and blurred vision after dying under the influence of the sugar rush effects. This fix prevents these effects from persisting beyond their intended duration and after player respawn.
- Companion Mounter: Fixed bug that prevented to feed and interact with pets and other entities, now uses Secondary active key to use.

📜Improved Inchling Origin 2.1.3 - Changelog

🐞Bug Fixes🐞

- Sugar-Fueled Frenzy: Fixed eating mechanic and reworked for backwards compatibility.
- Companion Mounter: Fixed bug that prevented to feed and interact with pets and other entities, now uses Secondary active key to use.

✏️ Important Note ✏️
- Apugli Dependency: I'd like to clarify that the two versions (2.1.2 and 2.1.3) are entirely identical in terms of behavior, function, and performance, with this update primarily focused on backward compatibility. This release is a response to numerous requests I've received. The only significant modification addresses the issue with the sugar eating feature, which now functions correctly. To fully utilize the sugar power, Apugli is a necessary dependency. My decision to integrate Apugli rather than basing it on an Origin power was driven by a desire to maintain the immersive experience and high-quality animations present in the latest Origins update. As Apugli was the architect behind the power type currently employed by Origins, it serves as a perfect substitute, ensuring the preservation of all functionalities and behaviors from the original version of this Origin without any compromise.

Yes it is. Or at least it should be, it doesn't replace any Origin just adds to the menu so you have an extra Origin to pick

Your inability to read is honestly incredible. Do me a favor and read what the "Companion Mounter" ability does

Hi! I've made this account with the sole purpose of telling you how much I enjoy the Improved Inchling Origin. It feels way more balanced than the initial origin...and the paper glider is so cute. He's just a little guy!

I know you've already responded to a comment about this, but is there any way configure mob-riding so we can drive them like horses? Even if you don't want to do it officially, I'd love to edit it myself if you have an idea how to do that. The Ride power opened my eyes to how cool it is to be atop these little mobs...and the idea of having a Bee Steed or something like it feels so in-line with this version of the Inchling.

Thanks so much! And thanks again for making this Origin :)

Its part of the design, the Origin uses a "paper glider" which is a popular thing with Inchlings but useless because they take no fall damage, everything in this Origin is by design and works as intended but the origin is made to be a challenge, its impact 3 so its one that affects your gameplay the most
