No new items. No new mobs. Just pure Minecraft, but harder. Just like the old days.
Over the years, Minecraft has gained many over-powered features and strategies for minimizing and even completely avoiding the survival aspects of "survival" Minecraft.
Now days, even hardcore is incredibly easy if you know what you're doing. The "first night" no longer lives up to its name like it used to.
This datapack fixes that problem while maintaining the vanilla feel.
Play in hardcore for a more intense challenge~
What does it fix?
Beds
- You can no longer skip the night. (However, you can still lay down to set your spawn point and reset the phantom timer.)
Sprinting
- Some mobs are faster... MUCH faster.
- Some mobs see you from slightly farther away.
- Some mobs deal slightly more damage.
- Creeper fuse is shorter.
Enchanting
- Enchanting tables and enchanted books have been removed from the game. (However, you can still get enchanted items and combine them in anvils.)
- The librarian profession has been removed from the game.
Trading
- Villagers never level up from trades.
Totems
- Totems of Undying have been removed from the game.
Some resources
- Fortune no longer works on diamond ore.
- Looting no longer works on meat.
- Golden apples require gold blocks to craft.
- F3 screen no longer shows coords and other data.

Remove the line "gamerule reducedDebugInfo true".
If you've already started the world, then run the command "/gamerule reducedDebugInfo false". Otherwise, if you're starting a new world with the modified datapack, you don't need to do anything.
And thanks for enjoying it!
Either when starting a new world, or using commands, just set the "Players Sleeping Percentage" gamerule to 101 or higher.
Have fun!
Under data/minecraft/recipes delete the enchanting table file.
Under data/minecraft/loot_tables/entitites delete the evoker file.
Under data/harder/functions open the tick.mcfunction file and delete the last 4 or 5 lines (starting with the line that starts "execute at @p run fill"), but leave the "clear @a minecraft:enchanted_book" line if you want to make sure enchanted books can't be created.
This should allow you to get totems and use enchanting tables.
