This lightweight datapack alters the very basics of movementmechanics in minecraft, by allowing players to move as quickly side to side and backwards, as they do forward while sprinting. This small change makes a surprisingly big impact on what gameplay, especially combat, feels like, making it more akin to the fast, fun movement of classic first person shooters like Doom.

The pack allows players to move in all directions at the speed of sprinting by just using WASD. Sprinting like in vanilla minecraft, by presing ctrl or w twice does'nt affect movement speed at all. Players move at sprinting speed in all directions without actually needing to press sprint.

This small change makes combat feel alot more fast pased and makes it actually possible to dodge attacks from skeletons and other enemies.

The datapack is very lightweight and efficient. It runs only 3 commands every tick and uses predicates instead of more demanding methods like using /data or nbt= commands.
