The Eye Of The Abyss
Custom boss fight I made for a server I developed and made content for.
The boss is inspired in an old lore I had with some friends and is themed around darkness and shadows. It's quite a hard boss fight and takes some time to learn how to deal with each attack!
Boss's Stats:
- 800 HP
- 20 Armor
- Immune to fire
- Will often focus on a new player to target certain attacks

Boss's Attacks:
- Darkness Aura: Passive ability that applies darkness to all surrounding players.
- Orbital Strike: Chooses a random player and shoots down a large beam on a big area around said player, dealing lots of damage. The Orbital Strike can follow players slowly before disappearing.
- Laser: Shoots a single beam at the focused player. Will keep shooting it for around 5 seconds, dealing constant low damage and rapidly tracking the player.
- Meteors: Calls down 3 sets of meteors upon every single player on the arena. Deals low damage, but applies tons of debuffs for a short period of time.
- Pushback: Detonates, dealing no damage but knocking all entities back significantly, trying to push them off the arena. Also becomes invincible for 5 seconds.
- Traps: Sets down crying obsidian on the floor that, when stepped on, will summon evoker fangs, damaging the player. Disappears after some time.
- Summons: Places down 4 trial spawners around the arena that will summon Shadows. Shadows deal low damage and have a single heart of HP. Alone, they're not a problem, but you can get outnumbered if you're not careful. They drop arrows when killed and a health pack at the trial spawner that heals 2 hearts if all waves are beaten. Trial spawners and all shadows will disappear after 1min and 30sec.
- Miniboss: Focused player will be cursed summoning the Penumbra. Penumbra is a miniboss type mob with 30HP and 10 Armor. It deals a good amount of damage and drops a health pack when killed. Penumbras do not despawn and have to be killed.
- 360° Laser: Erects 4 obsidian pillars around the arena while charging up a laser. The Eye will then rotate while shooting the whole arena for almost 20 seconds, dealing massive damage to all player who touch the laser.

About this datapack:
- Only one boss can exist at a time (might update if given enough attention)
- Can be played with any amount of players! (Recommended 1-4)
- Minecraft version 1.20.4 WITH EXPERIMENTAL FEATURES ENABLED!!
How to play:
- Go somewhere in the sky far away from any builds
- Run command: /function eota:create_arena
- This is the arena you'll play in. Fly under it and use the command blocks to spawn/kill the boss!
- Spawn a new boss
- Go into adventure mode and step into the arena
- Boss will immediately start attacking anyone at least 30 blocks near it!
