Have you ever been to a 4D theater? Often times, the seats will move, or water will be splashed in your face, or smells will be piped into the room.
What if we played Minecraft like that? What if you could smell the earthiness in the air when it rained, or the sulphuric stench of an exploded creeper?
The thought came to mind when I was eating some fried chicken while playing Minecraft. In-game, I cooked chicken and ate it, making the whole process amusingly immersive. I built on that, and wondered if I really wanted to go as far as getting wet when it rained, or feeling the arrows of skeletons to my face!
Imagine the 9.4.1 update, bringing new sensations and feelings to your holographic Minecraft experience. As you play, your internal computer keeps track of what is going on in the brain, and releases hormones related to your gameplay. Melatonin if it's getting late, adrenaline if you're being hunted, dopamine if you complete your house, or get an achievement. It would also simulate sensations like pain, pressure, smell, taste and spatial awareness.
What could we do to Minecraft to make it scarily real?
Edit: Pop reel! Woohoo!
