NOTE
I discovered this feature a couple weeks/months ago while playing around in the 1.8 snapshots. The reason I am only making a tutorial on it now is because I wanted to make a Mini-Game surrounding the idea before I told people about this.
If you want to see the Mini-Game, click right here.

In this tutorial, you will learn how you can throw FIREBALLS in vanilla Minecraft (1.8+)
Requirements:
-Be in the latest snapshot
-Have a new world created (Super flat preferably)
-Have command blocks in your inventory
Creating a Super Fast Redstone Clock (Step 1)
You must first create a really fast redstone clock. I like to use the command block minecart one.
If you don't know how to make a really fast redstone clock, there is a quick tutorial below. Otherwise, you may skip this step.
1. First off, make a powered activator rail.
2. Then go stand on top of the activator rail, and type in this command into your chat:
/summon MinecartCommandBlock ~ ~1 ~
3. Then type inside the commandblock minecart:
setblock ~ ~1 ~ redstone_block
4. Then, on top of the redstone block, place a command block.
Then inside the command block, write:
setblock ~ ~-1 ~ air
5. Then break the redstone block once.
Now you have a very quick redstone clock!
*EDIT* There are faster clocks now. Please check out this video to see a tutorial.

3. Throw a snowball! (Instead, you will throw a fireball!)

/summon Fireball ~ ~ ~ {direction:[0.0,0.0,0.0,0.0]}
You need a motion tag:
/summon Fireball ~ ~ ~ {Motion:[0.0,0.0,0.0],direction:[0.0,0.0,0.0]}
