as the sun was setting behind the old abandoned farm that sat behind there house tommy (the youngest one) was out on the porch making the familys nightly cooking fire while joan (the older one) was getting the beds made when there was a sudden knock on the door it sounded like a hammer scraping against metal not knowing what to do joan quickly opened the door to see it was the local postman coming to give them the evening mail "good evening joan" the postman said its been rather stormy in these parts lately if you get what im saying joan replied ive noticed this as well looks like a storm may be brewing today and with that he left without another word spoken later the next morning the town woke up to terrible news the beast that devours the sun had been awoken and was heading towards them as the family heard the news they quickly ran inside to prepare for what many would assume was there last stand sitting 10.9 feet tall and as heavy as a school bus this monster was big and nasty with one big enormous eye with goo running all out of it all the towns people that came in contact with it immediately fanted from the stench nobody could fight it or even get near it the mayor a short and fat little fellow was always the one to stay out of public affairs he was always the tv news type of guy and never really stepped foot outdoors unless its a complete emergency along with that there emergency plan was even worse with no weapons or anyway really to attack except for 1 rotten old catapult that was build at least 10 years ago and was rusted over many citizens started to wonder if anything would ever change and eventually that would happen but that's for another book-End Of Part 1
