Introduction

So this... is a rant.

My first one, and similar to the comments I leave on other people's projects, skins, and blogs, I don't do this unless I really feel it necessary to get it out there, or the post just happens to piss me off due to misconceptions, delusions and stereotypes.

So now, without further ado, let's get into it.

Popular and Less-Popular

I'm just going to face it up front with the truth- I'm not popular. Nor are many; thousands of other players just striving to get their work out there, noticed by the people in this community. And their work, their skins especially, are being picked off one by one, stolen and plagiarized by pathetic parasites that are too lazy to make their own, yet expect people to respect them for "their" work.

In saying this, of course, it is more common for plagiarists to steal off more popular skinners as their work is undeniably easier to find, however harder to hide as their own, since the public will notice the style, the design, and with the original skin already widely seen by the hundreds and thousands, they identify it straightaway as stolen.

But what of the less-popular skinners? With their work rarely even seen by the hundreds, they are left prey to the vultures, who present the skin as their own and are not stopped, perhaps even congratulated on their supposed "hard work", because no one ever saw it before, until someone (most likely the owner) one day stumbles upon the copy and flags it.

Luckily, due to PlanetMinecraft's great moderating staff, I believe all the copies made so far of my skins have been taken down (which I flagged). Now, you may say, "Problem solved! Staff clean it up, it's all OKAY." Then I have to disagree, because if the plagiarist has already stolen it, (no they're not marketing the skin, since they don't link it to the original owner) then they are taking the place of the original creator, DENYING them the recognition they deserve.

Wrapping Up

I will soon release another new skin based on Batman: Arkham Knight's main antagonist (which is of course, the Arkham Knight), and I want not just me, but ALL less-well-known skinners to be able to post their skins on the internet without having to fear if they will be stolen or not.

I know this is a very big goal, but if everyone could just have at least a little sense of justice and awareness, that would be great. And to the plagiarists- Do you honestly have nothing better to do?

Thanks for reading.
