Greeting pmcers, It is very rare in my profession that I would find a discovery of this magnitude, and yet I found it entirely by accident. I was chatting with a good friend of mine, who looks surprisingly similar, to Ronald McDonald. after making this observation, he went quiet, and mentioned the hamburgler, a popular McDonald’s mascot, from the late 70s.
this comment, lead me on a terrifying adventure, from which I will never recover.

The encounter
I initially encountered the creature, while making a google search for the entity known as the hamburgler.
the hamburgler has recently re-emerged, and seems to be living a normal and mostly non criminal life, therefore, he is not the subject of our inquiry.

Then, I saw him.
A large, round, purple creature, with large tired eyes.
Its name, is Grimace.
this is a photograph, of said creature of horrors, of which my innocent past self, did not yet fully fear.


purely out of curiosity, I researched more.

The Grimace
according to the McDonald’s fandom wiki, grimace is “a large, purple anthropomorphic being of indeterminate species with short arms and legs ... Originally, Grimace was the "Evil Grimace", with two pairs of arms with which to steal milkshakes. After that first campaign, the character was revised to be one of the "good guys", and his number of arms was reduced by two.“
I then found, this image.




This terrifying creature was once a common mascot, of the beloved McDonald’s company. But in recent years, he hasn’t been seen, yet according to many sources, his disappearance was of an disturbing nature.
“The character was retained in the 1980s and was one of the few members to also be retained until the end of the McDonald’sland commercials.”
“Grimace was last seen at Dodger Stadium on July 18th, 2012 vs. the Philadephia Phillies, dancing.”
this is based on the testimony of eyewitnesses, as no photographic evidence remains of this even.

an official statement by the Chief Creative Officer of McDonald’s at the time, says this:

”There have been characters created as mascots for quick-serve companies that admittedly scare little kids. We inadvertently created one at McDonald’s and had to make some quick changes to correct our mistake.

The original Grimace was scaly, mean-looking, had four arms, and had no charm whatsoever. He scared kids. We changed him.”

then, after relaying this information to my friend, I found the most terrifying clue of all.

The Followers

On the discovery of this website, a chill went down my spine.
I had found followers of this strange creature.
The Grimace Offical Fan Club.

“On this webpage you will find several facets of the Grimace community! It is currently a work in progress, but over time I would like to have this website feature the complete history, theories, fan art and more of our favorite purple boy. ... We are officially on Grimace Fans 2.0 after dying down due to some personal issues with the law, but we’re back!“

did you catch it? The law.
This comes up again later, as the followers blatantly state their disliking for all order.
They refer to the law, copywrite law, and similar forms of governing, in quotations, with clear disdain.


These followers have many theory’s of their own, as to what has happened to their beloved leader.
blinded by their own admiration, they admit that there may potentially be clones of grimace, on the run.
one such potential clone is shown below.


these beings claim that there is no way this could be grimace, claiming that it horrifying them that there could be evil versions of their hero.
however, they quickly change perspective, commenting that there is only more of grimace, for them to love.

lastly, in the most terrifying twist of all, we find a recent article, on this monster, on the run.


This article tells of the recent crimes, of this monster, a description is given, yet no real photos are found.
this article seems to carry the matter in a mix of seriousness and sarcasm, poking fun at the criminal that they think is a man.
there is no doubt in my mind, that grimace has returned, to his thieving habits.

with the potential of a future return, it is clear that nobody is truly safe.
beware the lies, beware the followers, and most of all..
Beware the Grimace.
