Branwen sat on a rock, looking dejected. "We can't go after them alone. What are we supposed to do?" she asked Wigliff.

"Well, normally, I'd say 'fight fire with fire' but we don't have anything like what Paril is using. Even with swords, bows and armor, we're pretty much outmatched," Wigliff admitted.

"At least it will be easy to find him," Branwen said, pointing at the tracks the heavy machinery had left in the earth. "It's not like he's hiding his location."

"No, that's true. Either he figures we won't care, because he didn't attack US, or he's daring us to come after him." Wigliff dropped himself down beside Branwen on the rock.

"He may not even know that you know he's been here," the Cube suggested. "He doesn't know about our ability to talk to each other, or Adol for that matter."

"That's true," Wigliff agreed. "But he HAS effectively stopped newcomers from getting help from the Topians. Or getting the elixer for that matter."

"I won't bring anyone else over for a while," the Cube promised. "I don't want any humans to get hurt. Besides, you guys seem to be exactly what I've been looking for."

"Thanks, Cube," Branwen answered. "Problem is that we seem to be making more of a mess than helping Topia," she told him as she gestured to the damage Paril's machines had caused.

"You're not all like that," the Cube replied quickly. "Most of you are really cool. I like humans!"

"Glad to hear it," Wigliff chuckled. "So you won't be imploding my head any time soon?"

"Not today, anyway," the Cube agreed.

Branwen grinned. "You've got a bit of a sense of humour there, Cube. Where did you learn to talk like this anyway?"

"Listening to you humans. I like the way you talk. It's more fun than the Topians' speech. They're sort of stuffy, don't you think?"

"Maybe they are," Branwen said sadly, "But that doesn't mean we can let Paril treat them like this."

"Wait, WAIT!" Wigliff said excitedly. "I've got it!" He hugged Branwen enthusiastically. Branwen looked startled.

"You have what?" Branwen asked him.

"How to beat Paril! At his own game!" Wigliff told her. "We have to find Cyprezz!"

"Who the HELL is Cyprezz?" Branwen asked.

"An honest-to-god cyborg," Wigliff told her, grinning from ear-to-ear. "Made his bits himself. If anyone can come up with something to combat Paril's mechanicals, it's him."
