With another year coming to an end, it's time to appreciate what little effort we have put into keeping our previous resolutions that were supposed to 'better' ourselves. But in reality, just prooves how lazy we are.
I don't speak for everyone here, but I have never ever kept a new year's resolution. Whether it is "Be more social" or "Lose weight", I never find time in my busy life to actually accomplish these. Sometimes I ever find that I have gone backwards. Then I worry and make a new resolution. But again, it never sticks. I'm not the only one either, most of my friends do the same. There may be the one or two that complete them, and others who don't make them at all. However, the constant realisation of not completing them causes us to create more. We feel as if we have failed and need to improve when most of the time we don't.
However, sometimes there are exceptions. But after those two or three weeks of going down to the gym, you don't feel as hyped about it. "I'll go today" turns into "I'll go tomorrow" and yet tomorrow never seems to come. We dwindle on this idea that we will go but never do.
About now, you're probably wondering what my point is. Do I want you to stop making them? Do I want you to follow them? But I want neither. I want you to except who you are but still keep improving. There is always a fault, in everyone, but you can fix it. Don't give none of that "New year, new me" nonsense because it doesn't work. Saying that you will change doesn't fix the fact that you are uncomfortable with who you are or what you're doing. Don't wait until the new year to change something. Change it now. Fix it now. Do whatever you must, but do it now whilst you still want to do it. In that lead up to the turn of the year, you doubt yourself and make you feel like you can't do it. That is what stops you from accomplishing those dreams. Waiting.
