Admit it.  You like modern houses.  Why?  Because they are new.  Different.  Unique.
Me, though?  I am sick of them.  People post them way to much, making them quite the opposite of the things listed above.  Now, they are not even creative-looking.  Blunt.  Boring.  Old.  So why do we still like them?  What makes them special, as to say, adventure maps?  Adventure maps are now a thing of the past.  No one plays them anymore.  No one wants to see something old.  So WHY do we like modern houses?
Do I need to say it?  Because WE are modern now.  We want things that are up-to-date.  No more castles, no more adventure maps, and you can forget dwarven mines.

Think for a second, why are modern houses "better"?  Post what you think below.

3 years later - my answer was absolutely stupid. I do agree, it is boring and too functional. In a game like minecraft it would be a shame to limit your creativity to boxes and minimal forms for the sake of elegance, save that for other applications I guess when materials do matter. And I believe these designs should be called contemporary rather than modern as it depicts a time in history where building were simple because it needed to be as it focused on it's function rather than useless aesthetics, post modernism - contemporary is the current architecture today, a conundrum of all styles that it is difficult really determine what is which.

I think it truly depends on how the builder cosiders something as "modern". Many people think creating a few boxes with windows is modern as apposed to somebody who is deticated twards the style and gives it more depth, variety, and their own input of uniqueness

Isn't this topic getting too old already? Just enough about irrelevant subjective opinions of modern builds already. It's already a fad, we get it - modern builds are not that all too complex from first look because it's main aim is to create something more understandable to everyone, it's a philosophy and it as well - subjective. And modern builds are not better, design wise it depends on prefence, but both sides - complex and simple have their own ups and downs.

Side Note : I do agree, modern builds are "alien"

*A few minutes after* Realised I didn't answer your question fully, well there a lot of new things the could happen behind it in my opinion, like functionality and space even complexity. More elements, maybe weirder forms.

Yes, I am afraid the toppic is getting old.  And as you can see, I have little to say by the end of the post.
Feedback is great!

Some modern builds seem to have no effort put in at all. But believe me, there is a LOT of work and time poured into making a decent modern house.

That's a good answer, I think.  And I can appreciate the work ethic, though maybe not the work.  But all of you have to agree that the example I built up above did NOT take much work.  :/

  Thanks for the feedback!
