Introduction (Because this is Pretending to be a Book)
Ok, let's write a Ballad
So I've never written a Ballad before
Which is why this one is probably gonna be awful
It's called Minin' Minin' Hard Y'all (or Mining Mining, not that it matters)
It has the same meter for "The Walrus and the Carpenter" from Alice in Wonderland
In case someone cares
So I've never written a Ballad before

Minin' Minin' Hard Y'all
One morning Steven realized,
He didn't have good ore,
He thought of going down the street,
To buy some from the store,
But then he had an idea,
He'd go and mine some more!
He grabbed a pickaxe and a sword,
Although it might break soon,
He didn't plan to fight a lot,
It wasn't even noon!
And anyways, the days were long,
It was quite late in June.
Steve wandered cheerfully along,
Not caring much of time,
He crossed river after river,
And forests full of pine,
Then finally, down darkened stairs,
Into his favourite mine.
He found some iron and some coal,
Which wasn't good enough,
So he mined on, for hours on end,
And stopped to huff and puff,
He'd found diamonds and redstone ores,
Now that's the real stuff!
Steve had been mining very hard,
And so he had a snack,
Then grabbed his tools and precious ores,
And tossed them in his pack,
"It's getting late," He realized,
"I should be heading back."
So Steven climbed up to the sun,
But found himself in night,
A Zombie stood still, quite nearby,
Steve hopped it had bad sight,
No luck, the Zombie noticed him,
And Steve prepared to fight.
The Zombie walked, his arms stretched forth,
And with an awful smell,
Those two they fought, but Steve's sword broke,
And he whispered, "Farewell,
My home, my ore and all my friends."
And then our Hero fell.
"It seems a shame," young Steven thought,
"To mine but not defend,
And after finding so much ore,
Since they're the latest trend!
No matter," He then realized,
"I'm dead so it's the end."
And while Steven thought and cried,
His mind so full of dread,
He noticed sunlight shining down,
Upon his blocky head,
Confused, he stared, then realized,
That he'd respawned in bed!
