Hello Fellow Members of PMC! :)
Today is a blog on subscribers, no - not me being the typical advertiser scamming the site just to get them, but subscribers as in disloyal subscribers. This is a big topic which I BELIEVE hasn't fully been discussed yet, so thats what I'm doing today.
What Are Loyal/Disloyal Subscribers?
Loyal Subscribers are people who subscribed to you for your work, and demonstrating their support and appreciation towards you. They subscribe because they enjoy your content, and want to see more of it.
Disloyal subscribers are people who subscribed for their own benefit, not the actual person they subscribed to. They don't care about the others content, nor do they support them.
Giveaways and Contests:
It is absolutely fine to host giveaways and contests, but please - don't do them just for the subscribers. I see people who continuously host giveaways, which is ok. But most of them mention that in order to win, you have to be subscribed to them. Many people fall for these, and do subscribe and enter the contest.
The people who make these giveaways, aren't doing it for an act of kindness, nor appreciation - they do it for the subscribers.
Why Do People Do This?
People mainly host these giveaways because they seek attention. They want to gain more subscribers which they believe may help them further on in future, but trust me - it doesn't. These contest/giveaways are mainly ignored, yet some do end up subscribing. If you do end up subscribing, it's basically falling for a scam.
As I mentioned previously, people tend to do it for the attention. These people will mainly have a low amount of subscribers, and seek more. Instead of putting time into thoughtful posts, they just make a cheap format to gain an equivalent amount of subscribers.
If these people have decent content, and a good amount of subscribers. Then it isn't as much of a worry. Lots of these kinds of contests are for only subscribed users, but if you have a low amount of subscribers, there is no point. Being that you have a little amount of subscribers, people will mostly ignore the giveaway/contest and perhaps enter someones who has at least a decent amount.
Conclusion
Its fine to host giveaways with a small amount of subscribers, but don't force the others to subscribe to you, nor just for the attention. If you are going to host a giveaway, don't make it subscriber-only if you have about 100 or less subscribers, or else your giveaway won't grab any attention whatsoever.
Make sure to diamond, favourite, and subscribe for more blogs to come! Lets see if we can perhaps reach 200 subscribers by christmas time? That would be the best christmas present ever :)

On giveaways, as far as I know forcing people to sub for a giveaway/contest/whatever counts as sub4sub but I may be incorrect, don't take my word on that. Even if it's not, you can see it on the forums, nothing's stopping them.
