Hello, and welcome to my interview with interlude_vi! She is a wonderfully talented and unique skin creator and an avid BTS fangirl. ;) I hope you enjoy our interview!
My questions are in dark pink; her answers are in pastel pink.
1. What inspired you to start making Minecraft skins?
1. Well, when i was about 10, i started to really get into playing Minecraft on my pc. at the time i had no idea what skins were, or that you could change your in-game skin. but fast forward to a year, and i started to play on online servers (Hypixel, The Hive, etc.). i realized that people had super cool skins! so at first, i started to "make" my own custom skins with the Alex skin file from the game. somehow i managed to figure out how to edit the skin file in Microsoft Paint haha, and started wearing color gradient skins. but after a while i got bored of my skins, and wanted better skins. i did some googling, and found the Skindex! i thought it was pretty neat, and i even downloaded a few skins from skinners that i am friends with today! but i still wanted to make skins, and so i created an account, and started making my own skins with the Skindex editor! fast forward to about 3 years, and i finally get PMC, and here i am now! :)
2. Do you have a persona? If so, what inspired you to create them?
2. Yes, her name is Addison! a lot of things inspired my persona tbh. i've had so many versions and characters as personas, but all of them didn't really match my username per say. so i got inspired by the users that had their personas matching their user or online personality. so i ran with that, and created Addison to be based off of cherry blossoms, which is what my username is, sakura :) i also added some aspects from my other personas as well, and that's how Addison was made!
3. What is your favourite submission (that you have made)? Your favourite that someone else has made?
3. Hmm... i think that my favorite submission of mine is a tie between this one and this one. i was super proud of both of them at the time, and i still really enjoy the color palettes and the designs!
As for someone else, this one is hard haha. i've been super inspired by a lot of peoples' skins, but i think this one by Grymslie! ♥ i always find myself going to their page for inspo on shading, or just to see their skins! i love the aesthetic they take to skins, and i think you can see some of that playing into my own skins heh X3
4. What would you consider to be your greatest accomplishment (either IRL or on PMC)?
4. Hmm... i think my greatest accomplishment would be finding my own skinning style that i enjoy, and this is unique to me. although my shading style changes slightly sometimes, it always follows the same "style" and i really like that! i tried so hard to find my own style for the years i've been making skins, and at the beginning of this year it really hit me, and i was able to create a style that i love uwu
5. What is your favourite feature on PMC? Your least favourite?
5. I really like being able to save skins submissions as a draft. it's super useful for when you're no quite done with the skin, but wanna save your progress, or take the submission picture to share with others! it's also nice for saving the descriptions before posting the skin publicly. as for least favorite, i don't really have a least favorite. but i don't like the popular reel. at least, not the way it's set up i guess. for example, on Skindex the popular skins are all on one page to view easily, but the pop reel as you scrolling through each individual skin. this is just personal preference though, since keep in mind that i used Skindex before PMC X3
6. Do you have an inspiration (either for making skins or in real life)? If so, what do you like about them?
6. I have inspirations for both! :) for skins, like i mentioned earlier, Grymsliehas really inspired my skinning career, and helped me gain that special
style that i probably wouldn't have gained if they didn't make skins! Another inspo would be Angel, his aesthetic is what inspired me to start my own aesthetic for my skins. remember the pastel phase of my skins? that was thanks to angel X3 i find inspo on PMC from just about anyone though! right off the bat i can name a few; Rhines, you, Mellie, and Kawaii! they all inspire me to make my best skins ♥
For real life, i have a really amazing friend, she's super kind, and always thinks about me. she inspires me to try my best at everything i do, and give kindness back to other people in my life. she's the best X3 ♥
7. What is one thing you are very passionate about?
7. Art!! if it wasn't obvious before, i looove creating things! art is something i've been doing since i was 4 years old, and it always stuck with me. graphic designing is really my passion and what i love to do. whether it's making skins, designing a yt thumbnail, or creating a presentation, i love doing it all! just the idea of taking colors, designs, and other aspects and putting them together to create a really cool, aesthetic thing is amazing to me. another thing i really enjoy is writing, in fact, i'm currently writing my own book as of now ! :)
8. What advice would you give to a new PMC member?
8. Keep going! don't give up! there were times when i though of quitting making skins all together. but giving up wasn't an option for me, and i pulled through. don't be harsh on yourself or your skins just because they might not be as good as those "popular" skinners' skins. get inspiration from the skinners instead, and keep experimenting with styles until you find one you like! i took me about 2-3 years to find my style, so don't stress about it ! ♥
9. Do you have a current goal for your content? If so, what is it?
9. Right now i'm pretty content with my content. one thing would be to improve my palettes and skin designs, and i think i'm on the right path for that.
10. How would you describe yourself in three words?
10. awkward, obsessive, weird XD
